Photograph of Armadale Health ServiceThe Armadale Health Service is a 271-bed general hospital that delivers a range of health care services including emergency, mental health, maternity, neo-natal, general medical, rehabilitation, surgical, dialysis, outpatient and intensive care services.

It incorporates Armadale Hospital and Armadale Mental Health Service.

There are a number of transport options for people to get to and from our health service.

Public transport

Current bus and train timetables can be obtained from the Transperth Infoline on 13 62 13 or by visiting the Transperth website (external site).

Buses

A Transperth bus stop (no. 13369) is located at the main entrance of our hospital. Buses servicing this stop include:

  • 220 (via Wellington Street Bus Station, Armadale and Kelmscott train stations)
  • 249 (via Armadale and Kelmscott train stations).

Trains

Train stations near our hospital include Armadale, Challis, Sherwood and Kelmscott.

Transperth buses 220 and 249 link the Armadale and Kelmscott train stations to our hospital.

 

All staff and patients are reminded about the changes to train services operating on the Armadale-Thornlie line.

The Armadale/Thornlie Line is shut until mid-2025 as part of METRONET's Victoria Park - Canning Level Crossing Removal (external website)Byford Rail Extension (external website) and Thornlie-Cockburn Link (external website) projects. During this time there will also be rail revitalisation works happening between Kenwick and Sherwood.

During the shutdown, there will be no train services between Armadale/Thornlie and Victoria Park. Trains will continue to operate between Victoria Park and Perth stations, with seven new and five enhanced bus routes introduced to the bus network to support existing timetabled services.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead as travel times will increase during the shutdown.

Commencing Thursday 23 November, services will operate as follows:

Taxis

Cab Spot (external site) is located at the main entrance of our hospital near the Emergency Department.

Patients and visitors can call 13 13 30 for a taxi and, when prompted, enter the unique four digit code (no. 1125) for the hospital’s Cab Spot location. The fully-automated system will dispatch the next available taxi to the hospital.

If your taxi has not arrived within 15 minutes, simply call back and confirm you are still waiting. If you have hailed another taxi, simply select the cancel option when prompted.

If you need to call for a taxi, public telephones are located near the hospital’s main reception.

 

Patients attending our health service can be dropped off and picked up in the drop off area at the front of the main building. A 5-minute parking time limit applies for these areas.

Limited parking is available at the front of the hospital (along Albany Highway) for patients and visitors in the main carpark.

Overflow parking is available off Ecko Road (to the north of the Albany highway entrance). Follow the signs to the car park along Albany Highway. From here walk around the Antonia Bagshaw Centre, up to the Mead Centre car park, then toward the main hospital car park at the front of the hospital.

Reserved parking

A number of car parking spaces closest to the hospital entrance have been reserved for dialysis patientsACROD permit holderspolice and some visiting medical practitioners.

Parking infringements

Visitors and patients are encouraged to observe the various parking signs and the applicable time limits.

Parking contrary to signs may result in an infringement notice being issued under the Armadale Kelmscott Memorial District Hospital By-Laws 2002.

For the safety of staff, patients and visitors, please observe the speed limits while on site.
