If you are a researcher seeking advice and assistance, this page provides everything you need to know about conducting research at East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS), including links to grant opportunities, details of current and upcoming research education and training, and how to gain ethics and governance approvals for your project.

EMHS researchers, study coordinators, external researchers and industry sponsors should contact the EMHS Research Hub as early as possible when planning a new research project or when considering adding an EMHS site to an existing project.

EMHS Research Hub


The Research Hub provides administrative support for research within EMHS, including:

  • General advice.
  • Advice navigating research ethics and site governance approval processes.
  • Early project development advice on key ethical issues, such as; consent pathways and data management requirements.
  • Tips for preparing an ethics application for submission.
  • Assistance preparing site governance approval submissions for EMHS sites.
  • Monitoring active research projects.
  • Linking researchers to relevant grant opportunities, training and education seminars.

The Hub team is available to assist with all queries relating to research in EMHS. Researchers are welcome to contact the Hub to discuss planned, or current, research projects.  Alternatively, you can arrange a time to visit the Hub at Kirkman House RPH and talk with any member of the team.
