Our staff, helping to deliver health for all
International Day of the Midwife and International Nurses' Day will be celebrated on 5 and 12 May respectively, in recognition of the amazing care our nurses and midwives provide to people in our community every day.
This year's themes, Nurses: A Voice to Lead: Health for All and Midwives: Defenders of Women's Rights, are a strong reminder of the significant contribution our nurses and midwives make in the delivery of professional, compassionate care.
It is important to recognise the work they do can be transformational to the health care needs of individuals and communities. Our nurses and midwives constantly perform at a high level, and what they do every day has a significant impact on other peoples’ lives.
This is a testament to the ongoing kindness, and compassion our nurses and midwives show our patients throughout their healthcare journey, delivering care to all regardless of age, culture, sexual orientation or social status.
Throughout the week several activities will be taking place across our sites to recognise the important role of nurses and midwives. We would encourage you to take part in these initiatives to help celebrate our staff's achievements.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the diverse, challenging and essential work our nurses and midwives do and thank them for living our values and continuing to deliver amazing nursing and midwifery care with integrity and respect.
