EMHS seeking Consumer and Community Advisory Council members
East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) has an exciting opportunity to be a State Appointed Member of the Consumer and Community Advisory Council (CCAC), contributing to the governance of St John of God Midland Public Hospital (SJGMPH). There are currently two Council Member positions available.
The CCAC is formed by both State and St John of God (SJG) appointed members who collectively represent consumers, reflecting on how patient and visitor experience can be improved.
We believe the diversity of representation, skills and background is vital to CCAC decision-making and this ensures the community’s broader interests and needs are at the centre of the Hospital’s operations. A range of life experiences, technical knowledge and capabilities is valued, as these contributions bring broader perspectives and insights, which can shape the improvement of SJGMPH over time.
The CCAC provides input into service delivery by advocating for communities they represent and participating in improvement initiatives. It also actively promotes community participation to enhance the patient experience and hospital services. Applications are strongly encouraged from health consumers and carers, particularly those with a connection to Aboriginal and multi-cultural groups.
CCAC Members are appointed for a period of two years, including a four-month probation period.
