Hitting those green goals
In line with its ongoing commitment to sustainability, EMHS has become the first public health service to implement the use of biodegradable non-sterile examination gloves.
“The gloves are just one tangible example of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint across our sites,” EMHS Corporate Services and Contract Management Executive Director Philip Aylward said.
“As you can imagine, a health service uses a lot of examination gloves – so this change really is a defining moment in our ongoing endeavours in reducing our carbon footprint.”
Philip’s words were echoed by Acting Product Liaison Nurse Manager, Corporate Nursing, Nestor Pagkalinawan, the “Green Champion” who tirelessly persuaded glove options to ensure that EMHS continued on its path towards a more sustainable and responsible future.
Nestor highlighted that significantly, the new gloves were “ever stronger” than those they had replaced!
