Youth Community Assessment and Treatment Team (YCATT)
The EMHS Youth Community Assessment and Treatment Team (YCATT) provides a brief, targeted, evidence-based assessment and intervention service up to 14 weeks to young people aged 16-24 years and their carers in the East Metropolitan catchment area.
YCATT includes psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, clinical nurses, and psychologists to deliver holistic care to young people in need.
Suitability criteria for young people:
• Aged between 16 and 24 years-old
• Currently residing within the EMHS catchment at time of activation
• With mental health symptoms currently impacting functioning
• Have the potential to benefit from, and motivation to engage in, brief intervention.
Unsuitability criteria include:
• Are currently engaged with a CAMHS or adult service.
• Those on a Community Treatment Order (CTO).
• Clients presenting primarily with either an underlying neurodevelopmental and/or intellectual disorder.
• Individuals presenting with a primary eating disorder diagnosis as this is best managed by EMEDSS.
• Young people presenting primarily with behavioural issues that are not a symptom of a mental health diagnosis.
• Those presenting for a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD/ADD, Intellectual Disability, or other neurodevelopmental disorder.
• Those presenting for the purposes of obtaining NDIS application only.
• People requiring alcohol or drug detoxification or rehabilitation.
