EMHS Byford Health Hub Service Providers and Clinicians Advisory Group Seeking Expressions of Interest
We are looking for service providers and clinicians to be part of an exciting opportunity to shape the planned future Byford Health Hub and innovative approaches to integrated health and social care.
About the Byford Health Hub
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale (the Shire) is a major growth area supporting the population of Perth and Peel. In February 2021, the Shire endorsed a business case for a dedicated health hub to be located in the heart of Byford. The Byford Health Hub (BHH) was announced as a 2021 McGowan and WA Labor Government election commitment to benefit the rapidly growing Byford community. Planning to date has recognised the potential benefits of having a BHH model which brings together a mix of health and social care services under the one roof. The BHH presents an opportunity to develop an integrated care model that has a focus on preventative health care, addresses the increase in chronic health conditions and mental health issues, relieves pressure on hospitals and ultimately improves the consumer experience and outcomes.
Purpose of the BHH Service Providers and Clinicians Advisory Group
The BHH Service Providers and Clinicians Advisory Group (the BHH SPaC Advisory Group) is being formed alongside a Community and Consumer Advisory Group as well as a number of targeted Working Groups, to provide advice and support to shape the BHH. All groups will report to an overarching BHH Project Reference Group.
The role of a BHH SPaC Advisory Group Member is to:
- Act as a source of expertise and advice and provide evidence-based opinion on the BHH design, service mix and operating models to the BHH Project Reference Group.
- Identify matters for the consideration of the BHH Project Reference Group. This may include the consideration of innovative solutions for the BHH.
- Deliberate on matters in the context of the whole BHH and its future consumers, not just in relation to each Members’ particular specialty or area of service delivery.
- Provide service provider/clinician input to any other BHH advisory and working groups as required.
Availability and time commitment
The BHH SPC Advisory Group will have an initial briefing conducted in late November 2021, where future meetings will be discussed. While meeting requirements are still to be determined by the program it is likely be no more than six times a year. There will be opportunities to participate face-to-face and virtually. The function and membership of the group will be reviewed at the end of the first 12 months of operation to guide if any changes are required.
Membership
We are seeking to appoint a broad range of service providers and clinicians which are reflective of the services that are potentially in scope of the BHH, with consideration given to the following:
