East Metropolitan Health Service was proudly represented at the 2026 WA Nursing & Midwifery Excellence Awards on May 9, with our staff recognised across multiple categories for their leadership, compassion and commitment to patient care.

Congratulations to our winners:
🏆 Noreen Gould (Armadale Kalamunda Group) – Excellence in Enrolled Nursing
🏆 Naomi Hallsworth (Royal Perth Bentley Group) – Excellence in Leadership (Emerging)
🏆 Jodee Hollingsworth (St John of God Midland / Moort Boodjari Service) – Excellence in Aboriginal Health, and 2026 Midwife of the Year; and
🏆 Elizabeth Hull (Bentley Midwifery Birth Centre) – Consumer Appreciation Award.
Congratulations also to EMHS Board member Professor Tracey Moroney OAM from Curtin University, who received the Excellence in Leadership – Established Award.
With 13 EMHS finalists recognised on the night, the awards were a strong reflection of the expertise, dedication and care delivered every day across our hospitals and services.
Health Minister Meredith Hammat said the awards were a fantastic opportunity to highlight the vital contribution of nurses and midwives across our State and recognise the exceptional care they provide.
“Jodee Hollingsworth’s leadership and commitment to culturally safe maternity care for Aboriginal women and families is truly inspiring and reflects the very best of midwifery in Western Australia," the Minister added.
