Donna joined the Palliative Care Team at Kalamunda last year and is so glad she did.

“It’s been the best move ever,” she says

“Yes, it’s emotional, and sad at times, but the feeling of supporting families and patients on their journey to the end is so rewarding.”

Donna is a hard-working team member who strives to live the EMHS values of excellence, accountability and integrity every day.

“I strive to be better every day, to do better than the day before,” Donna says.

“We are all human and we make mistakes, but how you face that shows who you are as a person.”

Treating people well is important to Donna, who views her Kalamunda colleagues as one big family.

“It’s important to treat everyone as special, and with kindness – from managers and Patient Care Assistants to patients and their families,” she said.

For Donna, the most rewarding part of her job on the Palliative Care Team is caring for her patients.

“Being able to help patients have as peaceful a journey as possible, is a wonderful thing to be able to do,” she said.

Thank you for everything you do Donna!
