East Metro named Health Service Provider of the Year
CEO Joel Gurr accepts the award with Dr Clare Fellingham.
East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) has been recognised at the 2026 Australian Medical Association (WA) Awards for its sustained improvements to the working and training environment for our junior doctors.
The award reflects the progress made in supporting our doctors in training and creating an environment where they can learn, grow and deliver amazing care.
Our CEO Joel Gurr accepted the award on Saturday night (October 31), pictured below with Dr Clare Fellingham, who established the junior doctor-focused East Experience Strategy in 2023.
In handing EMHS the award, the AMA said: "East Metropolitan Health Service demonstrated improvements in wellbeing, including reduced burnout, as well as progress in workplace culture, workload management, rostering and protected training time."
